RRB Group-D is attempted by numbers that are difficult to overstate — this is among the largest recruitment examinations conducted anywhere — and the consequence for a candidate is that the cut-off sits high on a paper that is not conceptually hard. The four sections are Samanya Jagrukta, Samanya Vigyan, Samanya Buddhimatta evam Tarkshakti and Samanya Ganit, all at a level most candidates can handle given time. The examination is a CBT, and reading a book is not preparation for sitting in front of a screen with a countdown clock, a question palette and no ability to flip pages back and forth.
