Physics is where JEE Advanced separates candidates, and the reason is not that the syllabus is larger than chemistry or mathematics. It is that JEE Advanced physics questions are constructed rather than templated. A hard problem in this paper usually combines two or three ideas that were taught in different chapters, or applies a familiar principle to a configuration the candidate has never seen. No amount of formula recall handles that. What handles it is having worked through enough genuinely difficult problems that the candidate has developed a method for approaching an unfamiliar one — identifying what is conserved, choosing the right frame, deciding what can be neglected.
That is what a dedicated advanced problems book is for, and why it occupies a different place from a theory text. It assumes the concepts are already in hand and supplies the thing that theory books cannot: sustained exposure to problems at the level the examination actually sets. Working through them is slow and frequently discouraging, and that is the intended experience — a student who finds these comfortable on first attempt has probably chosen a book below their level.
