This is R.D. Sharma's Mathematics for Class XII, published by Dhanpat Rai Publications as a three-volume set for the CBSE Examination 2026-27 — Volume 1, Volume 2, and a separate MCQs in Mathematics volume. It is an English medium (Roman script) book — the complete theory, solved examples, exercises and answers are in English, and there is no Hindi content in it.
The two main volumes cover the full Class 12 syllabus. Volume 1 carries relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, matrices, determinants, continuity and differentiability, and applications of derivatives. Volume 2 carries indefinite and definite integrals, applications of integrals, differential equations, vector algebra, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming and probability. R.D. Sharma is the standard practice text for Class 12 mathematics, and the reason is the sheer quantity and grading of the problems. Each topic is introduced with the theory stated compactly, followed by solved examples worked in full, followed by an exercise set that begins with straightforward application and climbs to board and entrance level. The integration chapters alone carry more worked substitutions and standard forms than most students will see anywhere else, and integration is the unit where insufficient practice shows up most reliably in the paper.
The separate MCQ volume matches the objective section of the current CBSE paper, with multiple choice questions, assertion-reason questions and case study based questions across all chapters. Since the objective portion now carries a substantial share of the marks and is answered under time pressure, having it as its own volume is a practical advantage over a few MCQs tacked onto each chapter.
All three volumes are needed to use the set as intended. It is used alongside the prescribed NCERT Mathematics Part I and Part II, which remain the source the board sets its questions on.
