This is Pradeep's Fundamental Physics for Class XII by Dr. K.L. Gomber and K.L. Gogia, published by Pradeep Publications as a two-volume set — Volume I and Volume II together. It is an English medium (Roman script) book — the complete theory, derivations, solved problems and exercises are in English, and there is no Hindi content in it. Pradeep is a reference book rather than a guide, and the difference matters. The theory is developed at greater length than the NCERT text allows, with each concept followed by solved examples graded from the straightforward to the difficult, and then by exercises. The NCERT textbook questions and exercises are solved in full, and so are the NCERT Exemplar problems — which is the part most students need help with, since the Exemplar is where the harder board-level questions come from. Alongside these are competency-focused objective and descriptive questions, case-based questions, and NCERT-based multiple choice and assertion-reason questions in the pattern the current CBSE paper uses.
The two volumes together cover the full Class 12 syllabus: electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects and magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating current, electromagnetic waves, optics, dual nature of radiation and matter, atoms and nuclei, and semiconductor electronics. Both volumes are needed for the complete course.
The competition focus sections are what make this book a two-purpose one. Each chapter carries a separate block of NEET, JEE Main and JEE Advanced questions with solutions, so a student preparing for both the board and an entrance examination works from a single source rather than switching between a board guide and a coaching module. That said, the NCERT textbooks remain the source the board sets its questions on — this set is the depth and practice layer on top of them.
