This is the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) main Hindi textbook for Class VII, वसंत भाग 2 (Vasant Bhag 2). Vasant is the principal reader of the Class 7 Hindi course and carries both the prose (गद्य) and poetry (पद्य) sections. At Class 7 the exercises do most of the teaching. Each chapter closes with प्रश्न-अभ्यास on the content, a भाषा की बात section that works on vocabulary, muhavare, sentence construction and grammar drawn from the passage just read rather than as a separate drill, and अनुमान और कल्पना prompts that ask the student to think past the text. Poems carry their own appreciation questions. This is the structure the school paper is set on, which is why the prescribed book repays being read as written — a guide summary strips out exactly the language work the questions are built from.
Vasant is read alongside दूर्वा भाग 2, the supplementary Hindi reader, and बाल महाभारत कथा in the Class 7 Hindi course. The text is illustrated throughout, and the language is pitched to build reading fluency and vocabulary in Hindi at this level.
